1. Who operates Shift Rail
Shift Rail is provided by ongsim (Yeonwoo Kim). This policy explains how the Shift Rail iPhone app, its support email, and this support website handle information.
2. Information stored by the app
Shift Rail stores the following information in the app’s local container on your iPhone:
- saved routine identifiers, names, and scheduled state;
- alarm identifiers, titles, times, repeat days, and enabled state;
- the sound selected for each routine; and
- a temporary recovery journal containing the original and target schedules while a change is being completed.
This information is used only to create, duplicate, select, show, edit, schedule, switch, shift, verify, turn off, and recover the routines you manage in Shift Rail.
3. Developer data collection
The developer does not collect data from the Shift Rail app. The app has no account system, analytics SDK, advertising SDK, tracking technology, or developer-operated server. It does not send your routine or alarm data to the developer.
4. Alarm access and Apple services
With your permission, Shift Rail uses Apple’s AlarmKit framework to ask iOS to schedule and manage the app’s alarms. iOS handles those requests on your device. The developer does not receive your alarm data through AlarmKit.
iOS may show an alarm title on system surfaces such as the Lock Screen or StandBy. Anyone who can see your device may therefore see that title. Avoid putting sensitive information in an alarm name.
You can deny or revoke Alarm access in iOS Settings. Without that access, Shift Rail can still show and edit its saved routines but cannot schedule, switch, shift, verify, or turn off its alarms through iOS.
5. Retention and deletion
Local routine data remains until you edit or delete a routine, or delete the app. A pending recovery journal is removed after Shift Rail completes and verifies the related operation. Before deleting the app, use “Turn off Shift Rail alarms” so the app can ask iOS to remove its scheduled alarms and verify the result.
Deleting the app normally removes its local container from the device. Apple’s device backup and restore features are controlled by Apple and your iOS settings.
6. Purchases
Shift Rail is sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the purchase. The developer does not receive your full payment-card details. Apple’s handling of purchase information is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.
7. Support email
If you email support, the developer receives the address, message, and ordinary email metadata you choose to send. This information is used to read, answer, secure, and keep a limited record of your support request. Do not include private alarm names or other personal information unless it is necessary for the request.
Support correspondence is hosted by Google’s Gmail service and may be processed in countries where Google operates. It is kept until the request is resolved and for no more than one year after the last response, then deleted from the active support mailbox and trash, unless longer retention is required by law, security, or an ongoing dispute. You may request earlier deletion by replying to the same email thread.
8. Support website
This site does not add analytics, advertising, tracking scripts, or application cookies. It is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub logs a visitor’s IP address for security and may process connection, device, security, and operational information when it serves the site under the GitHub General Privacy Statement. GitHub controls the retention and deletion of its service logs.
9. Sharing, processors, and your choices
The developer does not sell personal information or share it for advertising. Apple processes App Store purchases and AlarmKit requests, Google provides the support mailbox, and GitHub hosts this website. Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law or a valid legal process.
You can edit or delete app data by editing or deleting routines or deleting the app, revoke Alarm access in iOS Settings, and request access to or deletion of support correspondence by email.
10. Children, security, and changes
Shift Rail is a general utility and is not directed to children. Because the app does not collect data from users, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Shift Rail minimizes risk by keeping its app data local and by using iOS system frameworks. No method of storage is completely secure. A revised policy will be posted here with a new effective date before material changes take effect.
