One offset for the whole routine
When your start time changes, keep the gaps between your alarms. In Shift Rail, moving a routine 30 minutes later adds 30 minutes to every alarm entry. You can save separate routines, but schedule at most one at a time.
Shift Rail is for iPhone with iOS 26 or later. It manages alarms created inside Shift Rail; it does not read, import, or change alarms in Apple's Clock app.
Example: 30 minutes later
Imagine three repeating alarms around midnight. Every entry moves by the same amount, but only entries that cross midnight change their repeat day.
| Alarm | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Get ready | Mon 23:40 | Tue 00:10 |
| Pack bag | Mon 23:55 | Tue 00:25 |
| Leave | Tue 00:15 | Tue 00:45 |
The same rule works earlier: Sunday 00:10 moved 20 minutes earlier becomes Saturday 23:50. Review both the time and repeat day, especially at the start or end of the week.
Preview, then apply
- Choose a routine. Check its alarm names, original times, repeat days, and which entries are enabled.
- Choose the offset. Use the earlier/later controls or the slider. Compare every original time with its preview and check any changed repeat days.
- Apply and check the status. Allow Alarm access when requested. Scheduling a different routine replaces the one previously scheduled; confirm that switch when the app asks.
If the app reports that a schedule needs repair, follow the in-app repair instructions and check the status before relying on it. Alarm delivery depends on iOS and device settings.
Does choosing another routine switch the scheduled alarms?
Selecting a routine changes the preview. When another routine is already scheduled, applying your selection asks you to confirm replacing it. Both routines remain saved, with at most one scheduled at a time. Check the schedule status after switching.
What about an alarm that is turned off?
Its saved time and repeat days move with the routine, but it stays turned off. For example, a disabled Monday 23:55 entry becomes a disabled Tuesday 00:25 entry after a 30-minute move. Moving the routine does not enable that alarm.
Only enabled entries are scheduled. At least one entry must be enabled to move and schedule a routine.
Your routines stay on your iPhone
Shift Rail stores its routines locally and needs no account. The app has no advertising or tracking. This guide has no sign-up form or analytics.
