Word, Excel and PDF in the same app

Which files open?

Since version 1.0.5, HWP Viewer also opens these files, view only and free:

They are shown with the system's Quick Look preview. The Files app can preview them too; HWP Viewer is handy when you want Hangul documents and their attachments in one place, or want to turn a PDF into a Hangul file.

Get HWP Viewer on the App Store

The app's interface is in Korean; the Korean menu names are given below in quotes.

Open them

  1. Tap the share button on the attachment (in Files, touch and hold the file and choose Share).
  2. Choose “HWP 뷰어”.
  3. The preview opens with a “보기 전용” (view only) note at the bottom.

The “더 보기” (…) menu has “원본 파일 공유” (share the original) and, for files that can be printed, “프린트”.

Turn a PDF into a Hangul file

While viewing a PDF, tap “한글 파일로 변환” to make an editable HWPX file from its text and tables (iOS 26 or later; three free conversions, then the lifetime unlock, not a subscription).

Good to know

These files cannot be edited; editing and form filling are for Hangul documents. The current Mac version does not have this viewer yet. Files are opened on the device only.
